Bond, Schoeneck & King Writes the NYSBA’s Landmark Guide on Employment Law
February 10, 2021
Louis P. DiLorenzo and Jeffrey A. Kehl - Bond, Schoeneck & King
(New York, NY): Attorneys at Bond, Schoeneck & King have written a comprehensive 435-page guide to employment law in New York. Published under the auspices of The New York Bar Association (NYSBA), New York Employment Law: The Essential Guide was written by more than 80 attorneys from the firm’s labor and employment and employee benefits practices and edited by Bond members Louis P. DiLorenzo and Jeffrey A. Kehl.
The guide answers more than 450 employment-related questions frequently asked by attorneys, human resources professionals and laypersons. It addresses such wide-ranging issues as contracts, tort law, discrimination, employee benefits, worker’s compensation, unemployment insurance, New York State Department of Labor regulations and wage and hour requirements.
DiLorenzo and Kehl note in the guide’s introduction that the law does not create a workplace culture. Instead, it is generated through the relationship between employers and employees – an atmosphere created by people rather than by statutes or the common law. According to DiLorenzo and Kehl, “The ‘correct’ legal answer in one workplace culture may not necessarily be the right answer elsewhere. This book will provide the legal rules of the road for those who are responsible for shaping, changing and maintaining a wide variety of cultures across a number of industries.”
The book’s purchase price is $95 for NYSBA members and $130 for non-members. For more information on The Essential Guide, please click here.
