Jennings Strouss Announces Yuma County Qualified Opportunity Zones Investment and Development Forum

Phoenix, AZ (April 10, 2019) – Jennings, Strouss & Salmon, P.L.C., a leading Phoenix-based law firm, is honored to partner with Arizona Western College, City of San Luis, City of Somerton, City of Yuma, R.L. Jones Customhouse Brokers, Town of Wellton, and Yuma County to present the Yuma County Qualified Opportunity Zones Investment and Development Forum on May 8, 2019 at Arizona Western College (3C Building - Schoening Center, North Wing).
This community forum will address the qualified opportunity zones in Yuma, Arizona. The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act created the much talked about Opportunity Zones, a new investment tool designed to drive long-term equity capital to low-income communities nationwide.
“We look forward to presenting with the county, cities, and towns in Yuma, Arizona to show the potential for investment and development in their opportunity zones,” said Brett D. Siglin, a corporate and tax attorney at Jennings Strouss who is extensively involved in advising on opportunity zones and opportunity funds. “This will be a fantastic event for the community, investors, landowners, and real estate brokers to learn about opportunity zones, opportunity funds, and the types of projects that are ideal for development in Yuma County.”
Welcome and opening remarks will be given by Mayor Nicholls, City of Yuma, followed by a rapid-fire overview from Yuma County and the cities of San Luis, Somerton, Wellton, and Yuma of their opportunity zones and the types of projects that are prime for those areas.
A panel of key leaders and experts who are actively involved in creating opportunity funds and building projects in opportunity zones will discuss the ins and outs of creating a fund, what it takes to get a project off the ground, and how to build a team geared toward success. Presenters include:
