RICHMOND, Va. (March 7, 2022) – Sands Anderson PC today announced that Sean R. Mackin and M. Benjamin Tiefenback have joined the firm as associates. Mackin will be a member of the firm’s Litigation Group, while Tiefenback will be part of the Business Group.

Mackin focuses on supporting the general litigation needs of businesses and executives. Much of his experience lies with representing commercial transportation companies, hospitality organizations, retail stores, and restaurants. He helps clients efficiently resolve through litigation or negotiation matters related to premises liability, products liability, contract disputes, business torts, and insurance coverage disputes. He has experience in Virginia’s state and federal trial courts and will be in the firm’s Richmond office.

Tiefenback, a member of the firm’s Trust and Estates team, helps individuals and families plan for the future and protect their assets. Most of his work has been in preparing multigenerational asset protection trusts, and he is experienced in developing plans that allow his clients to bypass the probate process upon death and provide protection for surviving spouses and children. While Tiefenback will spend some of his time in the Richmond office, he will primarily service clients from the Williamsburg office.

Mackin received his juris doctor from the College of William & Mary and his bachelor’s degree in both Psychology and Conflict Analysis & Dispute Resolution from Salisbury University. Tiefenback obtained his juris doctor from Regent University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Christopher Newport University. He is also projected to graduate this May with his LL.M in Taxation from the University of Alabama.
