Tonkon Torp Adds Two Associates to Litigation Department

PORTLAND, Ore. (October 17, 2024) Tonkon Torp LLP is pleased to welcome associate attorneys Ryan Costello and Sowmiya Raju to its Litigation Department.
Prior to joining Tonkon Torp, Ryan Costello worked as a staff attorney with the Metropolitan Public Defender as part of the Minor Felonies unit. While there, he regularly managed over 100 active cases, reviewing discovery, conducting investigations, and drafting motions. Ryan earned his law degree, Order of the Coif, from the University of Oregon School of Law.
“We are thrilled to have Ryan join us,” commented Caroline Harris Crowne, Co-Chair of the Tonkon Torp Litigation Department. “He brings a wealth of courtroom experience and will be a strong addition to our team.”
Sowmiya Raju graduated magna cum laude from Lewis & Clark Law School, where she was a member of the South Indian Law Students Association and inducted into the Cornelius Honor Society. As a law student, Raju worked at Tonkon Torp as a 1L Diversity Fellow and 2L Summer Associate. In these roles, she prepared corporate law and litigation memoranda on a variety of matters, including on issues of contract force majeure and product liability.
“It’s gratifying to have Sowmiya launch her career with us after spending her law school summers in our Summer Associate program,” said Steven Wilker, Litigation Department Co-Chair. “She proved herself to be a bright, promising law student and we look forward to watching her practice develop.”
